Meet the Expert
Since 2019, I have served as Medical Director of the private clinic Aust Ästhetik in Landsberg am Lech.
My academic work has focused strongly on tissue regeneration and wound healing. In 2004, I completed my doctoral dissertation on the effect of insulin on the systemic inflammatory response following thermal trauma. In 2010, I completed my habilitation on percutaneous collagen induction, focusing on skin regeneration, gene expression, scarless healing, and remodeling of the extracellular matrix.
Over the years, my work has received several awards, including the 1st Poster Prize of the German Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2004, the CICATRIX Research Award in 2010, the “Best of Europe” Presentation Award in 2014, and the Fiona Wood Passion Award in Cambridge in 2015.
